This course is ideal for beginners, combining best practices to refine your performance in the depths of the sea while giving you the confidence you need to fully enjoy your underwater activities.
The Open Water Diver course is divided into three parts. The first part is the theoretical section, completed online through the SSI app. In this module, you’ll learn the fundamentals of recreational diving in detail, with images and videos that support understanding of key concepts. Once this online portion is completed, you'll join us at Big Blue Diving for a theory review session with your instructor to address any questions and deepen your knowledge. During this session, you'll also learn the skills that will be practiced during the first confined water session.
On the second day, you’ll move on to open water training. We’ll head out on our specially equipped dive boat and visit two dive sites, where you’ll complete two open water dives.
On the third day, you’ll complete the final open water dives of the course. You’ll also enhance your performance by practicing one specialty dive of your choice, selected in advance from: Perfect Buoyancy, Nitrox, Computer Diver, or Marine Ecology.
At the end of the three days, you’ll receive your Open Water Diver license, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world, as well as the certification for the selected specialty.
Good health is essential for diving, so a valid medical certificate is required.
For your safety, you should not fly for at least 24 hours after your last dive to avoid health risks related to diving and air travel.
