TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. General Requirements

All participants must be certified divers (unless enrolled in a course), hold valid diving insurance (mandatory in Spain), be in good physical health, and follow all safety instructions given by the diving staff.

The diving center reserves the right to deny participation or stop any activity if safety conditions are not met.

2. Locations of Operation

BIG BLUE DIVING operates from two main locations in Mallorca: Palmanova and Puerto Portals.

The meeting point for each activity will be confirmed in the booking confirmation or activity schedule. Depending on operational, weather, or safety conditions, the final meeting point may be adjusted.

It is the participant’s responsibility to arrive at the correct location on time. Transport or pick-up is not included unless explicitly stated.

3. Safety & Conduct

Participants must respect all instructions given by instructors and follow standard diving safety procedures at all times.

The use of alcohol is strictly prohibited at least 12 hours before diving activities. Diving alone is not permitted under any circumstances.

A minimum age of 10 years applies. For minors, written parental consent is required.

For safety reasons, the final decision regarding a participant’s ability to dive always rests with the instructor on site.

4. Medical Fitness

Participants must be medically fit to dive. A medical questionnaire is required before participation.

A medical certificate may be required depending on age or health conditions, particularly from 60 years of age or when indicated by the diving staff.

Participants are responsible for informing the diving center of any relevant medical conditions or medication.

5. Booking and Payment

Reservations are confirmed upon payment. A confirmation email will be sent after booking. Incorrect email entry is the responsibility of the client.

6. Pricing and Discounts

Only one discount applies per booking and discounts cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.

7. Liability

BIG BLUE DIVING operates in accordance with applicable Spanish and EU law.

We are not liable for damage caused by participant negligence, improper use of equipment, or failure to follow safety instructions.

This does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, gross negligence, or intentional misconduct.

8. Equipment

Rental equipment must be used responsibly and returned in proper condition. The participant is liable for loss or damage caused by misuse.

Participants are responsible for checking their equipment before each dive and reporting any issues immediately.

9. Conduct and Safety

Participants must follow instructor guidelines, respect dive plans and buddy systems, and avoid alcohol at least 12 hours before diving. Failure to comply may result in exclusion without refund where justified.

10. Environmental Responsibility

All participants must respect the marine environment. It is strictly forbidden to damage marine life, collect objects, fish, or pollute or disturb the environment and underwater ecosystems.

11. Schedule Changes

Activities may be modified, rescheduled, or cancelled due to weather conditions, safety requirements, or operational needs.

12. Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR and used solely for booking management, safety, communication, and legal obligations. Data is never shared without legal basis or contractual necessity.

13. Insurance Requirement

Diving insurance is mandatory in Spain. Participants without insurance may be required to obtain coverage through the diving center prior to participation.


SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Minimum age is 10 years. Written parental consent is required. Under 15, a guardian must be present.

Participants must have basic swimming ability and be in good general health to participate in any diving activity. A medical questionnaire is required and a medical certificate may be requested depending on age or health conditions. Local medical checks are available if needed. All safety instructions provided by instructors must be strictly followed at all times.

No flying within 24 hours after diving. The use of alcohol is strictly prohibited at least 12 hours before diving activities, and diving alone is not permitted under any circumstances.

Participants who have been inactive in diving for 12 months or more may be required to complete a refresher dive before participating in regular activities.

For safety reasons, the final decision regarding a participant’s ability to dive always rests with the instructor on site.


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations or changes made 4 or more days before the activity are eligible for free rescheduling or cancellation.

Cancellations made 2 to 3 days before the activity will incur a 50% charge of the booking amount.

Cancellations made 1 day before the activity, as well as no-shows, will be charged at 100% of the booking amount. This policy is applied due to operational constraints such as limited boat capacity, instructor allocation, and reserved activity slots, which are specifically prepared for each participant.

In the case of course-related bookings, SSI digital registration fees (€100) are non-refundable once issued. However, the corresponding course access remains open and can be completed at any time in the future either with BIG BLUE DIVING or at any other SSI affiliated dive center worldwide.

In case of duplicate bookings made by mistake, a partial refund may be issued, accounting for administrative and payment processing costs.
