Big Blue Diving Joins Underwater Clean-Up in Puerto Portals
On September 13th, we took part in a truly special day at Puerto Portals: the second edition of the Blue Marina Clean-Up Subaquatic. More than 80 people—including divers, volunteers, and ocean lovers—came together to remove over 3,100 kilos of waste from the seabed, including a 7-meter sunken boat weighing 2,600 kilos!
Big Blue Diving was proud to contribute to this important initiative by providing scuba gear and supporting the underwater clean-up. For us, enjoying the sea also means taking care of it.
As a dive center committed to SSI’s Blue Ocean program, our mission goes beyond diving—we aim to inspire divers and visitors alike to protect the ocean, reduce waste, and raise awareness about the importance of preserving our marine ecosystems.
Every plastic bottle we remove, every abandoned net we retrieve, is a step toward a cleaner, healthier ocean. Seeing so many people united for this cause motivates us to keep pushing forward.
A heartfelt thank you to Protemar, Puerto Portals Blue Marina, the Ajuntament de Calvià, and everyone who participated. Together, we proved that change is possible.
