Only those persons who have a diving licence, have taken out diving insurance, have undergone a diving medical examination, the last of which must not have taken place more than two years ago, from the age of 40 not more than one year ago, and who have knowledge of the general rules of diving are permitted to carry out dives – irrespective of a diving course.
The participant must assure the fulfilment of the requirements mentioned under this point by a separate declaration before the dive and must prove it on demand.
The carrying out of dives – outside of a diving course – is only allowed if the interested person provides a diving partner or if it is possible for the diving school to assign a diving partner to him/her.
The consumption of alcohol is prohibited twelve hours before each dive.
The diving staff of the diving school must be informed of any medication taken prior to the dive.
After examining the individual case, the diving staff is entitled to forbid the dive to the participant in question.
The liability for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health, which is based on an intentional or negligent breach of duty by the diving centre or an intentional or negligent breach of duty by a vicarious agent of the diving centre, remains unaffected. The same applies to the liability for other damages which are based on an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty of the diving centre or on an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty of a vicarious agent of the diving school. The diving centre does not assume any liability for damages caused by the participant him/herself intentionally or negligently, such as in particular damage, loss or theft of equipment or private items.
In case of loss or theft of equipment rented from the diving centre, the participant / renter assumes full liability.
Only one type of discount can be granted at a time. Multiple discounts of different types cannot be granted for one activity. (Exception is the combination of “e-learning” and “pre-payment”).
In Spain it is forbidden to dive without diving insurance. Those who do not have diving insurance can take out diving insurance through the diving centre at a reasonable price. Participants in beginner courses and trial divers are automatically insured through the diving centre.
Should the participant require assistance in the event of a diving accident, the participant will be responsible for all costs incurred, insofar as they are not covered by the participant, even if a third party initiates the rescue chain on the participant’s behalf. In case of diving accidents, the participant must immediately inform the diving centre or the security service.
During the diving course, the dives and at the diving site itself, the instructions of the diving staff must be followed. In case of repeated offence and verbal warning by the diving staff, the participant can be excluded from the diving course/dive with immediate effect. In this case, the participant is not entitled to a refund of the course/dive fees.
The participant undertakes to comply with all diving rules and safety standards. All equipment must be in full working order.
The proper condition of the diving equipment provided by the diving school is checked regularly and carefully by the diving school. However, this circumstance does not release the participant from the obligation to convince him/herself of the full functionality of the equipment used before each dive. Any faults found must be reported immediately to the diving centre.
It is forbidden to dive alone. The participants of each dive must always stay together during the dive. If a participant is nevertheless isolated from the group, he/she must surface immediately, observing the prescribed ascent speed. The same applies to assigned dive partners in smaller teams of two or more persons.
Diving is only permitted in the places designated as dive sites. Any prohibited areas must be observed.
Any disturbance of the environment by noise or pollution is to be avoided. Hunting or harpooning of fish or other living creatures in and under water is prohibited. Damage to diving objects will be reported as damage to property. Any damage to fishing equipment must be reported immediately.
The minimum age for open water diving is 10 years. The written consent of a parent or guardian is required in all cases for minors. Up to and including 14 years of age, a parent or guardian must also agree in writing to be present at the dive site for all diving activities.
The diving centre endeavours to keep to the announced dates. However, the diving school reserves the right to make justified changes to the schedule.
The participant agrees that the data given in the registration form will be processed electronically. The diving centre Big Blue Diving undertakes not to pass on any data to unauthorised third parties.
Swimming ability and good health are required to take any program.
The use of any diving package for Boat Dives is person related and limited to one diver.
For certified divers in case of abstinence from diving for 1 year or more, a refresh in advance is recommended. In case of refusal of the program we keep ourselves open to conduct a few dive skills checks at the beginning of the first booked dive or cancel the booking for safety reasons.
The snorkeling tour is a non-guided activity which takes place in the afternoon boat tour. For the participation of minors, the express authorization of their parents is required and that a responsible adult accompany them in the activity.
To take SSI Courses a diving medical certificate must be presented, or a medical examination can be performed at the local Medical Centre. For divers from the age of 50 years old or with health restrictions a medical certificate is mandatory.
For the participation of divers under the age of 18 years old in any program or course, the express authorization of their parents is required.
Divers should not fly by plane until 24 hours after diving for health issues.
In case of bad weather any program or course can be postponed.
During the months of July and August there may be limited capacity for SSI Courses.
